Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is an acute care facility which provides emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services. The Hospital has an Intensive Care Unit, Children’s Ward and Obstetric Unit. A purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre is now under construction.

Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is a busy acute care facility which provides which provides emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services to around 22,000 patients each year.

The Hospital has an Intensive Care Unit that incorporates High Dependency and Coronary Care beds.

As well as these clinical services, the hospital has a busy Obstetric Unit and Children’s Ward.

Shoalhaven is networked with other hospitals in our Health District with some services conducted from Wollongong; these include Cancer and Renal services.  Alkira Lodge at Wollongong Hospital provides on-site accommodation for patients from the Shoalhaven.

The Shoalhaven Regional Cancer Care Centre is currently under construction with the facility scheduled for completion in mid 2013.

Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is affiliated with the University of Wollongong and the University of NSW.

Shoalhaven has a dedicated group of volunteers and it has strong links with a wide range of community groups.

This hospital is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
