Aboriginal Maternal Infant Child Health (AMICH) – Shoalhaven Binji and Boori

Overview

AMICH is an Aboriginal targeted service for antenatal care through to child & family care to Aboriginal families with Aboriginal children 0 - school entry age. AMICH is a multidisciplinary service including midwives, child and family health nurses, Aboriginal Health workers, social workers, Occupational therapist and speech pathologist.

What we do

The service offers home visiting, clinics, and outreach from Aboriginal services. The team will do joint visits and coordinated care. The team can offer cultural awareness/support and consultation for other services that are working with Aboriginal women, children and families. Referrals to appropriate services are made if needed.

When to access this service

From early pregnancy for antenatal care, with a continuum to child & family nursing.

What to expect

Antenatal midwifery care and Child & Family Nursing until the child reaches school entry age.

Who should access this service

Aboriginal families, children and women who reside in the Shoalhaven local government area.

How to access this service

Clients can self-refer, referrals are also accepted. Call for appointment on 4423 9900 or via Intake.

What to bring to your appointment

For Child & Family appointments please bring your child’s Personal Health Record (Blue Book).
