Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, as part of NSW Health, is working closely with the Australian Government to plan and implement a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccination program for our region.
Vaccines are free and eligibility is set by the Australian Government. Check which groups are currently eligible for a vaccine on the Australian Government website.
NSW continues to vaccinate eligible people in the priority groups set out by the Federal Government. You can check to see if you are eligible to receive a vaccine, and if eligible book an appointment at a clinic, via the Australian Government eligibility checker:
The AstraZeneca vaccine is available for people aged 18 and at the Wollongong Mass Vaccination Centre, the Shellharbour City Centre Vaccine Clinic, and occasional pop-up locations, on selected days.

Making an appointment
Appointment bookings are available (subject to vaccine supplies) at two ISLHD venues:
- Mass Vaccination Centre, Wollongong
- Shoalhaven Hospital
There is currently significant demand for vaccination bookings across NSW. If there are no available bookings at a location near you soon, please continue to log into your account regularly - more vaccination appointments become available daily.
If you are over 60 and would like to receive the Pfizer vaccination due to medical contra-indications to the Astra Zeneca vaccine, please ask your doctor to complete the Request for Alternate Vaccination form and return it to ISLHD-COVIDVax@health.nsw.gov.au.

If you need assistance with your registration, please call us on 1300 096 365. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Please be patient as we are experiencing a high volume of calls so there may be a delay with us answering your call. You can also lodge this enquiry form and we will contact you. Please do not call our hospital switchboards as they are unable to assist you with your enquiry.
The District appreciates people’s patience and urges everyone to get vaccinated as soon as it possible to do so. In doing so, you take an important step to protect yourself, your loved ones and the community.
Your first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine are listed on your Immunisation History Statement in your Medicare account. Once you have received two doses of vaccine, you will also be able to download your COVID-19 digital certificate (also located in your Medicare immunisation history).

Please note: Due to privacy reasons, children aged 14 or over need to have their own MyGov account to access or their immunisation history statements.
Alternatively, you can phone the Australian Immunisation Register and request to have a copy mailed to you. Note: Children aged 14 or over need to speak to the service officer to provide consent and verify their identity.
You can ask us to locate your COVID-19 record if:
- You are unable to find a record of your COVID-19 immunisation on your Immunisation History Statement, and
- You received your first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at:
- the Mass Vaccination Centre, Wollongong
- Wollongong Hospital
- Shellharbour Hospital
- An Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Outreach Clinic
Note: If you received your COVID-19 immunisation at another venue, please contact that supplier directly for your record.

Note: travelling to your vaccination
Leaving home to receive a vaccine is permitted under the stay at home orders. However you must not attend your vaccination appointment if you have any COVID-19 symptoms. Please get tested and self-isolate until you receive a negative test result. You should also not attend if you are a close contact.
