Group Programs

Drug and Alcohol offer a number of group programs in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven. All groups are free and non-judgmental. Drug and Alcohol Groups can help you to;

• better understand your drug or alcohol use
• talk about the things you are finding difficult or that you have done well
• learn from the experiences of others
• make positive changes to your lifestyle

Illawarra Groups

Monday

Be SMART: A group program for the parents, partners or family members of people with drug and/or alcohol problems. The program helps participants to develop more effective ways of coping and find a greater sense of fulfilment in their own lives. 

Wednesday

Family Drug Support: This is a monthly group run by Family Drug Support at the Orana Center and is open to parents, partners or family members of people using alcohol or drugs. For more information contact Raewyn on 0457 260 079, FDS Head Office on 4782 9222 or visit the FDS website at https://www.fds.org.au/ 

Men's Smart Group: A group for men wanting support to better manage their drug or alcohol use. This group focuses on building skills needed to make positive lifestyle change.

iCan Cannabis Treatment Group: A group for people who have quit, want to quit or want to reduce their cannabis use

Building Blocks Young Parents Group: A group for young parents to connect and learn about managing parenting challenges, with the opportunity to find out more about Tafe

Thursday 

Alcohol Relapse Prevention Group: A group for people who have had problems with alcohol who want to develop skills to stay off alcohol and avoid relapse.

Thursday Night Smart: An after-hours SMART group for people who may not be able to attend groups during office hours. SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery is a free group program helping to reduce or manage problematic behaviours including drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.

Shoalhaven Groups

SMART Recovery: SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery is a free group program to help you reduce or better manage problematic alcohol or other drug use.
