Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS)
EPAS is an outpatient service for women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant, experiencing complications such as bleeding, pain or miscarriage. It is by appointment only.
What we do
We provide support and follow up care for women and their families experiencing complications in early pregnancy &/or pregnancy loss.
When to access this service
If you are bleeding, having a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy or if you or your GP has concerns about your pregnancy.
What to expect
You will be seen by a midwife and a medical officer. Your follow up plan will be discussed and appropriate management will be arranged.
Who should access this service
Women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant and do not require urgent medical attention. Please present to ED if you have heavy PV bleeding, passing large clots or pain not managed with Panadol or Panadiene.
How to access this service (referrals or no referral necessary)
Access by appointment only. Your GP can fax a referral to the EPAS clinic. You or your GP can phone during business hours. If you ring please leave a message with your name and contact details.
What to bring
All blood test results, Ultrasound reports and a referral from your GP if you have one.

Free Bus drops you at the hospital. Walk west and enter hospital through the Crown Street Entrance
Wollongong Hospital Carpark.: Access to the North and South Carpark entrances via New Dapto Road or Dudley Street.
