What the service is

Hospital based physiotherapy service for non-admitted patients of the Milton Ulladulla region.

What we do

Our physiotherapy team works in partnership with our patients to prevent and treat disease and disability optimising physical function in the following areas:

  • Orthopaedic
  • Musculoskeletal

How to access this service

Written referral from General Practitioner (GP), Medical Specialist, Hospital Doctor, Physiotherapist and other specialised health care professionals.

Referrals may be posted to the Physiotherapy Department at the Hospital.

What to expect

  • Individual sessions of goal based therapy with home exercise prescription 
  • Group exercise sessions may be offered for some conditions
  • Learn how to manage your condition independently

What to bring

Any recent scan results, appropriate clothing to visualise the area affected, Medicare card, appropriate footwear. Shoes should cover the toes and heel and be well fitting. (No thongs or floppy slippers). Bring any walking aids, glasses and hearing aids if required.

How to get there, including by public transport

By private vehicle, community transport .Some patients are admitted by ambulance

Car parking

A few disabled places around hospital grounds. IGA car park 500m away and some on street parking around hospital

Advice for disabled in getting to the service

Have someone drive you to be dropped off  at the main entrance. There are a few wheelchairs available for patient transportation to the ward .Disabled taxi service is available locally, as is community transport and CTA.

Head of Discipline - Physiotherapy

Anne Smith is the Physiotherapy Head of Discipline for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). She brings 27 years’ experience in Physiotherapy, having worked in a variety of settings including Hospital, community, and private.

Anne is responsible for providing professional leadership of Physiotherapy services across the LHD including Hospital and community based services.

The ISLHD Physiotherapy Department provides a broad range of clinical services and is committed to providing a comprehensive, professional and timely service.
