The Transit Lounge is located within the Ambulatory Care Centre at Wollongong Hospital and provides a safe environment for suitable patients who are medically stable.
Patients may be awaiting discharge home, ward admission or transfer or transfer to another facility for continued care such as a peripheral ISLHD Hospital, Private Hospital or Residential Aged Care Facility for continued management.
The Transit Lounge caters for patients requiring a bed, recliners or chair depending on patient requirements.
All nursing or medical staff from within Wollongong Hospital including Inpatient Wards, Emergency Department, Outpatient clinics. A Clinical handover will be required.

Jennifer is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Ambulatory Care Centre, Hospital in the Home, Transit Lounge and Respiratory Medicine.
She has experience as a Midwife, a Community Nurse, Diabetes Educator, a NUM and Nurse Manager in Community Health, ACAT, Hospital in the Home, Ambulatory Care Centre and Respiratory Medicine.
