Hospital Auxiliary and Volunteers
Wollongong Hospital has a dedicated groups of volunteers including the Friends of Wollongong Hospital, the Illawarra Cancer Carers, the Community Cancer Link and Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteers.
The hospital also has strong links with a wide range of community groups.

Friends of The Wollongong Hospital
Operational since: 1965
Current members: Around 40
Main purpose: Fundraising for Wollongong Hospital and providing volunteer support for patients and staff
Key activities: Snacks, toiletries, newspaper and flower care trolleys, washing patient clothes, administrative assistance, stalls, Christmas raffle and kiosk at the hospital

Interesting fact: Sometimes referred to as the pink ladies, membership is open to men and women and the Auxiliary’s shirts are really lavender!
