Dr. Stephen Chin

BSc MBBS (Hons) FRANZCR Staff Specialist Radiation Oncologist

Stephen is a radiation oncologist at Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre, where he mainly cares for patients with genitourinary, thoracic, gastrointestinal and gynaecological cancers. He was previously a staff specialist at Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre specialising in genitourinary and lower gastrointestinal cancers and Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals specialising in general and thoracic radiation oncology. He completed a clinical research fellowship at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, United Kingdom where he specialised in the management of urological cancers including external beam radiotherapy, systemic therapy and prostate brachytherapy.

He graduated medical school at the University of Sydney and completed his Radiation Oncology training at the Northern New South Wales training network, based at Westmead Hospital.

He is the deputy chair of the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group Genitourinary Working Party and is actively involved in registrar and medical student education. He is passionate about providing evidence based, patient centred care.

Dr Chin has professional associations with Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO),  American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate cancer trials group (ANZUP), Australian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG), Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS).

In his spare time, Stephen enjoys travel, music, cycling, and the great outdoors.
