The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) is committed to supporting high quality research and the translation of findings into practice. By building our research capability, we are working to improve the quality of care that we provide to, and the health outcomes of, our community.
ISLHD's vision is to become a hub for regional, rural and remote research into areas of priority for our community. We will use research to optimise our services, harnessing digital tools and AI, to meet the future needs of our region. The ISLHD Research Strategy 2024-2027 outlines research priorities and key actions for research needed to achieve our vision.
The ISLHD Research Office provides:
- Strategic development and implementation services,
- Project management of a portfolio of priority research,
- Research ethics and governance advice and review,
- Governance of external grant applications,
- Internal and collaborative grant schemes for ISLHD staff, and
- Education and training specific to conducting research on ISLHD sites.
