Dr. Derrick Siu

MBBS MMed (ClinEpi) FRACP Medical Oncologist- Staff Specialist

Dr Derrick Siu is a Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Dr Siu treats various cancer types including cancers of the genitourinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, brain cancers and lung cancers.

Dr Siu is also a research fellow at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney, where he contributes to the development and conduct of oncology clinical trials. Dr Siu is currently enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Sydney, his research interest is clinical trials design in the era of precision oncology.

Dr Siu believes that clinical research is an essential component of optimal clinical care. He is an investigator on a number of clinical trials, and he is committed to expanding the access to clinical trials in the region. Dr Siu is a member of several Australasian cancer cooperative trials group including AGITG, TOGA, ANZUP and COGNO.

In addition to clinical and research commitments, Dr Siu participates in a broad range of educational activities regularly.

Dr Siu speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and enjoys spending time with family and friends.  He has professional Associations with The Australasian Gastro- Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG), The Thoracic Oncology Group of Australasia (TOGA), The Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP), The Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO).
