Illawarra Shoalhaven Health Education Centre (ISHEC)
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Health Education Centre (ISHEC) is a purpose-built professional health education facility.
It partners with other local educators, including Science, Medicine and Health departments in the University of Wollongong, to provide comprehensive educational support for clinical staff across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Organisations outside of ISLHD are also able to utilise ISHEC’s valuable facilities and services.
This state-of-the-art health education and simulation resource offers a broad range of learning options – from small group tutorials and topical courses, to high fidelity multi-disciplinary simulations and an extensive equipment loan library.
What we do
ISHEC is designed to increase capacity and improve distribution of clinical teaching and training for the spectrum from students and trainees through to experienced health professionals continuing their professional development
When to access this service
This purpose built facility makes available a broad range of educational resources from simple accommodation of small group tutorials through to high fidelity multi-disciplinary simulation. In addition we provide a range of courses for both internal and external consumption on specialty specific topics and on the delivery of education itself (with an understandable focus on simulation).
The centre further provides access to a loan library of equipment for use both on site at ISHEC and in situ within other clinical areas.
