Who we are
We are nurses and counsellors who support and help families before and after your baby is born. Services at Family Care Centres are free.
What we do
Child and family health nurses and counsellors at Family Care Centres can help you and your family with:
- helping your baby to settle and sleep
- understanding your baby’s sleep patterns
- feeding your baby and nutrition
- your baby’s health and development
- anxiety and depression
- emotional health and wellbeing.
How to get help
- Getting help at a Family Care Centre is free.
- To get help from a Family Care Centre you will need a referral.
- You can get a referral from your GP (family doctor), a health professional, or from a Child and Family Health Nurse.
- If you need counselling for your emotional health and wellbeing, please call 1300 792 755.
You may receive services and support:
- over the phone
- by video conferencing through virtual care (telehealth)
- in person at a Family Care Centre.
