What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

A list of any medications that you take.

Medicare Card

A valid Centrelink Concession Card (a Healthcare Card, Pension Concession Card or a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card) for adults 18 years or older. A temporary card may be obtained from Centrelink if required.
Can I interpret for my non-English speaking relative?
We prefer to use a health care interpreter when clients are not fluent in English, including people who are Deaf.
Using a health care interpreter ensures the quality of communication between our staff and your relative.
It is also essential when patients are required to give consent for dental procedures.
The only exception is when urgent dental treatment is required.
Please let our staff know and they can arrange an interpreter for your appointment.

Vouchers
Can l extend the expiry date on a voucher?
No. Call our Customer Service Centre on 1300 369 651 to discuss.
Do l have to pay additional costs in addition to a voucher?
Only if you request and agree to other treatment not shown on the dental voucher. For more information see OHFFSS Brochure.
Dentures
What do l do if my new dentures don't fit properly?
Contact the private dentist and have them refitted.

How do l clean dentures?
- Clean your dentures every day.
- Clean your dentures over a sink filled with water to avoid breakage
- Use warm water, soap and soft nail or denture brush - rinse well.
- Remove leftover denture glue (if using).
- Put your clean dentures in a glass of water overnight.
- A special denture cleaner should only be used if you cannot remove stains with a soft brush and hand soap.
