Overview

Who we are

Child & Family Health Nurses (CFHN) provide breastfeeding information and support from birth to 5 years in a variety of settings. We offer one on one breastfeeding information and support to families and run regular breastfeeding information sessions across the District.

ISLHD is committed to the Baby Friendly Health Initiative. Its purpose is to protect promote and support breastfeeding for every breastfeeding women across the district so that every baby gets the best start in life (Baby Friendly Health Initiative World Health Organisation and Unicef).

Women can access breastfeeding information and support antenatally and at any point along their breastfeeding journey.

What we do                                                                                                

We can help you based on you and your child’s needs. You can choose a one on one consultation or join an information session.

No referral necessary for CFHN appointments or information sessions. Please bring your child's ‘Blue Book’ (My personal health record) to your appointment.
