Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Nurse and clinical researcher, Professor Kate Curtis, has been awarded the HESTA 2019 Australian Nurse of the Year for her tireless work in advocating to improve emergency hospital care across Australia and internationally, particularly for injured children.

Associate Professor Katherine Brown is well known in the Local Health District, as the Director of the Sexual Health Service. Katherine was recently the recipient of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine division for her contribution to the discipline of sexual health medicine.
