The ISLHD Research Office supports staff to apply for research grants by:
- Administering grant schemes.
- Authorising applications to external grant schemes.
- Facilitating letters of support.
All applications for research grants involving ISLHD employees or resources must receive approval from the appropriate ISLHD delegate prior to the grant being submitted. The ISLHD Business Rule explains the procedures to approve involvement of ISLHD staff or use of ISLHD resources, including the requirement to submit the Approval to Submit Research Grant Application form and grant application to the Research Office via ISLHD-ResearchGovernance@health.nsw.gov.au.

Translational Research Grants Scheme (TRGS): Round 9
TRGS Round 9 is now open with priority research areas being:
- Early translation or implementation trials for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare
- Rare diseases diagnostic and care coordination models
- Locally identified needs
- Aboriginal health
- Rural health.
TRGS Round 9 will fund projects up to $500,000 over 2.5 years.

UoW/ISLHD Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre Grant
Expressions of interest have been sought from ISLHD and UoW teams for research projects that:
- Accelerate digital transformation of aged care
- Advance safe & responsible AI in healthcare
- Unlock data to improve healthcare (e.g. through synthetic and linked data)
- Uplift capability & capacity of the workforce through collaboration.
The total funding pool is $200,000 for projects that facilitate collaboration between organisations in the priority areas above.
EOIs are to be submitted to dvcrsf-office@uow.edu.au by 8am on Monday 24th March 2025.
