Who we are
Child and Family Allied Health Services are a group of healthcare professionals helping children and their families in the areas of:
- Audiology
- Occupational therapy
- Psychology
- Physiotherapy
- Speech therapy
We work at four locations in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
What we do
We assess children for any difficulties and develop plans to resolve or manage them. We work with parents and carers, schools, preschools and others to help children reach their goals.
We can help in the following areas:
Audiology
- hearing
- ear health
Occupational therapy (OT)
- fine motor skills
- everyday self-care skills (dressing, going to toilet)
- handwriting and pencil skills
- sensory processing (reacting to noise, smells, sights)
- play skills
- attention and concentration
Clinical Psychology (Psych)
- challenging behaviour
- thoughts and feelings
- social and emotional problems
Physiotherapy (PT)
- motor skill development and control in infants and young children
- walking and lower limb concerns
- balance and coordination concerns
Speech therapy (SP)
- speech sounds
- talking skills
- listening skills
- fluency
How to get help
To get help, you need to make an appointment or get a referral.
Referrals can be made by parents, carers, educators and healthcare professionals.
Audiology services require a General Practitioner (GP) referral.
We are not an NDIS provider.
Locations
Each Child and Family Allied Health Service provides help for families who live in the area as described by each centre.

Driving is recommended as public transport to the hospital is limited.
Car parking:
- Limited parking on hospital site.
- Street parking is available.
- Allow extra time to find parking.
Bus services:
- Buses to the hospital run from Wollongong and Port Kembla train stations.
- There is a bus service from Warrawong Plaza.
