Wollongong Hospital Maternity and Women’s Health Service Lead Barbara Atkins has provided an update about the temporary birthing unit at Wollongong Hospital. 

Wollongong Hospital’s Birthing Unit will undergo a major transformation to provide a more modern, functional and welcoming birthing space for local women and families.

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has outlined its plan to deliver an enhanced maternity service in the Shoalhaven, giving local families access to a new midwifery led model of care.
